What is being proposed?

Sustainable development supporting the energy transition The proposed site will be accessed from the Drumkee Road and will include the following:

• 100 MWbattery energy storage system and associated 33kV transformers • switch and control room • onsite lighting • CCTV • 2.4-metre-high palisade fencing • Landscaping and planting Site design and health and safety

The proposed site layout has been designed by an experienced design team to maximise the performance and operational safety of the storage facility. The technology partner chosen by Heron Storage is recognised as world leading and is approved by the Healthy and Safety Executive Northern Ireland. The system design and site layout negate potential safety or environmental issues and the planning application will include all relevant environmental and safety assessments for consideration by the planning authority. When the project is in place, operation and maintenance checks will be undertaken on a regular basis.
