SHELL BITUMEN PDE have successfully completed projects at multiple Shell Bitumen plants, including Stanlow, Belfast and Dublin. Projects included the greenfield construction of a new Polymer Modified Bitumen Terminal at Stanlow (comprising new tank storage, complete with heating coils, mixing equipment, insulation, radar tank gauging and full terminal PLC control systems), the Design & Build of a new PMB plant in Dublin and the upgrade of existing facilities at Belfast, including all associated instrumentation and PLC control systems. EASTHAM REFINERY PDE were commissioned to upgrade the existing facilities of Eastham Refinery, located in the Wirral Peninsula, beside the Manchester Ship Canal. The project was extensive and included the installation of a heat exchanger on the main refinery, new storage tanks complete with heating coils, mixing equipment & insulation and a heating system for export to the adjacent blending facility. The upgrade also extended to the gantry loading system, including HMI and PLC systems.

NYNAS PDE have undertaken projects for Nynas at both their Eastham and Dundee facilities. Projects included the upgrade of the company’s Special Products Plant, comprising top loading gantry system, soap blending & chemical storage, waste emulsion recovery & blending facility, emulsion cooling system and hot water & steam heating systems.
