ENGLAND 28 BARBARIANS 14 The Barbarians opened their Spring tour in front of more than 50,000 supporters at Twickenham on Sunday afternoon against an England outfit that belied the massive difference in experience between the teams. The Barbarians showed plenty of endeavour in an open first half with former Ulster fan favourite Timoci Nagusa in particular causing havoc, however, they were denied by a combination of brave defence and rustiness. England took to the field with eight uncapped players and it was one of them who crossed for England’s first try after an opening 15 minutes that was largely dominated by the Barbarians. Jones' side sprang into life and after recycling the ball to the right wing, Sam James cut through Barbarians defence before passing inside to Saracens wing Earle who gratefully dotted down. Ford added the extras and a further two penalties before the break but it was the invitational side that came flying out of the blocks in the second half. Alex Goode found space down the left wing and released Ashley-Cooper to go over in the corner, which Madigan converted. Ford stretched England's advantage to nine points before Mikheil Nariashvili was sin binned for 10 minutes. England looked to have made the game safe with 13 minutes remaining, Saracens lock Isiekwe on the end of some fine handling with Ford's conversion stretching the lead to 16 points. However, the Barbarians were not to be denied with Tekori powering over which Madigan converted. It was England who had the final say of the match though, Care on the end of a decent team move, running a support line before Ford put him in.
