The Royal Belfast Golf Club - Your Guide to Rooms and Facilities
The Sinclair Room Where the house used to dance. Where the Club celebrates today.
Named in honour of The Rt. Hon. Thomas Sinclair — Royal Belfast’s very first Captain, and one of the three men who founded the Club in 1881 — the Sinclair Room was, when this house was a private residence, the ballroom. Stand in it now and you can still feel that sense of occasion: the high ceilings, the chandeliers, the proportions that were designed for people to gather and celebrate. Today it is our main formal dining room, and it remains the room for the big occasions — prize-givings, annual dinners, weddings, gala lunches, landmark celebrations. It seats up to 100 for a dinner and has a grandeur that makes every event feel genuinely special. If you are planning something significant — a significant birthday, a family celebra tion, a milestone occasion that deserves a room that matches the moment — the Sinclair Room is where it belongs.
