PADDY’S HOPING FOR ANOTHER INCREDIBLE NIGHT As Paddy McNair prepares to pull on a Northern Ireland shirt for the 40th time, he wants to relive his first experience of playing at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park.
Middlesbrough star McNair, 25, was a fresh-faced 20-year old when he made his home debut on the night qualification for Euro 2016 was secured with a memorable victory over Greece. Since then he has gone on to play at a major tournament and been involved in a World Cup qualification play-off. And having experienced the highs of performing on the biggest stage in European football, the ex-Manchester United man is determined not to let the opportunity to do it again slip by tonight against Slovakia.
“This will feel similar to the Greece game and obviously the Switzerland play-off,” he said. “The Greece game was incredible for me because that was my first game at Windsor Park. “For me it was something I was never going to forget because I was just coming into the team, whereas this game against Slovakia will be my 40th cap and I feel a lot more experienced and a lot more comfortable in the international side. “To have the opportunity to go to the Euros again is incredible and to have that chance of
