Hughes, who earned 112 caps for his country over a 21- year period, announced in June that he was hanging up his boots following an illustrious playing career. On behalf of the Irish Football Association, David Martin, the association’s president, presented Aaron with a commemorative plate to mark his international retirement. And Aaron, who was accompanied by his daughters Keira and Leila as he received a standing ovation during half-time at the challenge match against Luxembourg, also received a special gift from the Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters’ Clubs.
