Laydex Belfast was established in 1995 to meet the challenging requirements of supplying quality products and systems construction. Our goal was to be a major provider of a wide range of construction materials promoted through the specified, contractors, builders merchants and end-user. In the intervening years Laydex has grown out of all recognition from that start up period. We have expanded to the extent that we now encompass four individual operating divisions of Roofing, Flooring, Building Products and Sports Surfaces.

We are established as one of the dominant players in the supply area of the construction industry in Ireland. Our products are used in most major house building, commercial and industrial projects in Northern Ireland.

Keytec 400 Extra is a gas membrane, loose laid to a prepared substrate, which is designed to protect buildings and their occupants from methane, radon, carbon dioxide and

other harmful gases as well as acting as a damp-proof membrane to protect the building against the ingress of moisture from the ground. The product consists of an aluminium foil, reinforced with polyester multi strand scrim and encapsulated with a polyethylene film. It can either be conventionally welded with a hot air gun or bonded with a butyl tape.

Top Hat All penetration for services and drains should be sealed using preformed top hats, sealed to the radon barrier with butyl radon tape. Airtight seals should be formed around all service entry points. Top Hat Units are available for sealing around pipe entries. Radon Sumps Where a ground-supported floor is to be constructed and

full radon protection measures are required, a radon sump should be provided. For a typical house a single sump will probably be sufficient. If the dwelling is of modest size and of regular shape, an edge location may be acceptable. Otherwise the sump should be positioned centrally under the house and constructed to ensure that its pipe entry is not blocked when the fill is placed. The Radon Sump is a prefabricated sump of plastic construction and may be used as an alternative to brick construction. The Radon Sump is a rotationally moulded plastic radon sump unit designed to act as a collection point for radon gas prior to it being ventilated away when connected to an extract fan.

Tanking Membrane Indextene Tanking membrane is a cold applied, high performance, self adhesive, bitumen waterproofing sheet membrane. It is typically used as an internal and external basement or substructure tanking system or ground level DPM particularly where there is a large unobstructed area to be waterproofed. One side is covered in bitumen and one side is covered in a high-density 2-ply, cross-laminated polythene film. The underside is protected by a release sheet, which is removed prior to the bonding of the material. Priming the area to be covered with a bituminous primer before application will improve the adhesion. Chemically resistant, the product provides effective external protection against aggressive soils, dilute acids or alkalis.

HDPE dimpled sheet membrane for the protection of foundation waterproofing. The dimpled faced membrane FONDPLAST is applied on foundation walls to protect the waterproofing layer during the stage of back filling as well as during any settlement of the building itself. Further more it will provide an excellent mechanical anti-root barrier. The FONDPLAST membrane is a high density extruded polyethylene sheet (HDPE) and can be applied both as vertical protection or as a horizontal protection against damp. The product remains stable in lime, does not contaminate the water to which it comes into contact and does not release any polluting substances. VERTICAL APPLICATION The FONDPLAST membrane is applied with the dimple facing the inside in contact with the waterproofing layer. During the back filling operations the dimples of the membrane protect the waterproofing layer from the pressure and settlement of the earth and impede any downward movement. The fixing of the FONDPLAST membrane will be mechanical with steel nails and specific plastic profiles. The membrane must overlap by 20cm, using a double adhesive strip. Position a drainage tube at the bottom of the FONDPLAST membrane making sure to bury this with drainage material.
