U15 Boys Hockey

and while the Grosvenor boys fought valiantly, they were ultimately edged out by a very strong Wallace team. Determined to bounce back, the squad then faced Regent House. Despite spirited play and glimpses of attacking promise, they were defeated 4-0 by a well-drilled opposition. Throughout the season, many players made valuable contributions. Tobin McSorley captained the side with maturity and drive, leading by example on and off the pitch. Reuben Officer was a dependable and vocal presence in goal, producing confident and composed performances week after week. Tom McMullan, building on an excellent summer with Ulster Hockey, was one of the team’s most consistent performers, showing great energy and flair across midfield and attack. James Ewart showed impressive resilience in returning from multiple injuries, contributing strongly in the latter part of the season. Daniel Gamble provided reliable cover when needed, displaying composure, versatility, and a team-first attitude throughout.

The Under 15 squad had a challenging but character building season. With several players also contributing to the 2nd XI and 1st XI sides, and many of the Under 14 team stepping up when needed, the squad often had to adapt and remain flexible. Nevertheless, they demonstrated great resilience and commitment throughout the year. The season began with a home fixture that saw a blend of Under 15 and 2nd XI players take to the pitch. This was followed by a highly anticipated fixture against RBAI. Despite a slow start and conceding twice in the opening five minutes, the team regrouped well and battled hard to keep the scoreline respectable, eventually falling to a 3-0 defeat. Their next test came against a strong Friends’ School Lisburn team. Despite the best efforts of the squad, they were beaten by a well-organised and clinical side. Attention soon turned to the prestigious Richardson Cup. The opening round saw the boys travel to face Wallace High School. It was a fiercely contested match,
