DRAMA & MUSIC
FLUTE GROUP The past academic year has been an immensely rewarding experience for both of us as members of the Flute Ensemble. A particular highlight was our performance at the Spring Concert, where we had the pleasure of presenting the finale from Rossini’s ‘William Tell Overture’. Sharing music that we are passionate about with friends and family made for a truly memorable evening. The opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside fellow flautists has been both enjoyable and enriching, made all the more valuable under the excellent direction of Mrs Macauley. Her guidance and encouragement have played a significant role in our musical development. We strongly encourage all flautists to consider joining the ensemble in the coming year. It offers a wonderful chance to enhance your playing, form new friendships, and enjoy making music in a supportive and enthusiastic environment. We look forward to welcoming new members next year! GUITAR CLUB Guitar Club continues to serve as an engaging and lively way to conclude the week at Grosvenor Grammar School. The club convenes every Friday at 15:25 in the Music Department for a one-hour session dedicated to musical exploration and collaboration. Members participate in informal jam sessions, blending classic rock and indie songs that remain enduringly popular alongside newer pieces that resonate with a broad audience. While some musicians favour rock, others prefer pop, and many simply embrace the dynamic and evolving nature of the club’s repertoire. Instrumentation centres on guitars, bass, drums, and vocals, with an emphasis placed on enjoyment and creative expression rather than rigid structure. During Open Nights, Guitar Club members are afforded the opportunity to perform selected cover songs in an informal setting, engaging with visitors to the Music Department. The club also plays a significant role in the Spring Concert, where members showcase their musical performance skills in a more formal setting. This event consistently proves to be a highlight of the year, offering a platform for musicians to present a well-rehearsed and polished repertoire. In this year’s Spring Concert, Guitar Club maintained
