Mr Kennedy

effective learning environment. Known for his quiet encouragement and ability to connect with struggling students, he consistently inspired and challenged all learners, fostering a genuine passion for mathematics among his pupils. While Mr Kennedy’s departure was a great loss to Grosvenor, he left behind a strong legacy. As a supportive colleague, a skilled educator and a compassionate teacher, he will be greatly missed. He moved on to take up an exciting new role as Lead Practitioner for Mathematics at Hatch End High School in London, where his talents will undoubtedly continue to shine. As a department we were sorry to lose a teacher of Mr Kennedy’s calibre, but we will also miss his wisdom and expertise. We wish him and his family well as they embark on this new chapter. Mr Kennedy was appointed to the position of Teacher of Mathematics at Grosvenor Grammar School in April 2022. Prior to this, he had a successful industrial career as an electrical engineer with FG Wilson and Harland & Wolff; however, the appeal of teaching eventually led him to leave engineering and begin his career in education in 2001. Having taught in several schools in England, Mr Kennedy returned to his native Northern Ireland in September 2021, accepting a position at Integrated College Dungannon. Before this, he held the position of Head of Mathematics at Nower Hill High School in London, where he led the department with distinction. His time at Integrated College Dungannon was brief, as Grosvenor Grammar School quickly recognised his talent and appointed him to the teaching staff. He soon became a valued and respected member of the Mathematics Department. Mr Kennedy made a significant impact in the classroom. His deep understanding of both his subject and his pupils allowed him to create a positive and
