Best Hockey Player – Finn Cross Finn was a potent attacking weapon in both tour matches, regularly flashing past defenders down the right side of the pitch. His defensive work was also outstanding, consistently hassling his opponents and forcing mistakes. Team Competition – Team Transformers In a close run contest, Transformers pipped Thundercats to take top position on the final day. My sincere thanks to Mr Nelson, who was pivotal in the organisation of the tour, Mr Cowan and Mr Donnell who both brought energy and enthusiasm on each day of the trip. I truly appreciated their company and I know the players did also. Thank you to the players for giving your best effort on the trip across the four matches and training. I hope in the years to come you will look back on the experience with fondness and take positive memories with you going forward. Mr M McDowell
the advantage. In the second half, our bench proved vital, with James Wright powering over from close range to secure our second try. The game finished 15-0 and the rugby team’s revenge mission was complete. That evening we gathered as a group for a tour awards ceremony, where Mr McDowell was able to reflect on the tour with all involved and distribute prizes for the week, which are detailed below: Best Tourist – James Cusin James was an outstanding role model throughout the tour. He was always willing to help, looked after others in the group and brought an energy and enthusiasm every day. He was hugely deserving of the award, with staff unanimously voting for him. Best Rugby Player – Ewan Roberts Ewan was outstanding in both matches and in training throughout the week. He excelled at both 10 and 15 on the tour, culminating in his excellent individual score against CAU in the second game.
