Rock Climbing Trip

After our break, we did a challenge with Lucy to see who could go up and down a wall that had wooden planks. Then we sat down for a couple of minutes and got ready to go home. One thing we all had to do, at least twice, was wash our hands because of all the chalk. Our hands were really sore after all the climbing, but the water helped them. Once we were all ready, we headed out to the minibus to make our way back to school. Lara Grimason 8E It was astonishing. We were walking through the school, getting out of lessons at 10am. We got on the white coach bus and off we headed. Once we arrived, we all went into Boulder World, the place where we were climbing. It was very vibrant as bright colours were all over the walls. We started off with the orange rocks and we climbed until our hands were raw. They felt very dry, caked in chalk and they made small clouds when we gripped the walls too hard. The rock climbing was the best experience overall for everyone. There were 11 girls from the two form classes in total. We all enjoyed it, especially the orange and green walls. At break time, which was around 11:15am, we all drank some water and went on another set of walls. Overall, this was an amazing experience and representing our school felt fantastic. I would 100% recommend either going there outside of school or even going there if the school does another trip. Gemma Hudson and Hanna Gorka 8E

On Friday, 6 June, 10 other pupils (from 8E and 8N) and I went to Boulder World for the morning. When we arrived, we collected our rock climbing shoes and then started with the easy section. After that, we moved on to the rest of the area where most of the harder rock climbing walls were. After around another 20 or 30 minutes of climbing we took a well-deserved 15-20 minute break and ate our lunch. We then moved on to the harder walls for the last 30 minutes after which we packed up and travelled back to school by the bus. It was a challenging experience but with my friends encouraging me, I overcame it and even had a go at the harder ones. When I fell, I just got back up and tried again, determined to finish. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip as it was my first time rock climbing, and I was really glad I got to experience On the 6 June 2025, 10 other Year 8 pupils and I went on a rock climbing trip. The name of this rock climbing place was Boulder World and it was located on the Boucher Road in Belfast. You may be wondering how we got there; well, we got a minibus and we were being supervised by Mrs Hunter. When we arrived, we got rock climbing shoes - I do advise getting a size bigger, because everyone had to get at least one size up. Once we all had our shoes on, we met Lucy who helped us learn how to safely rock climb. A fact about Lucy is that she also went to Grosvenor Grammar School when she was younger. After an hour or so, we took a 20 minute break to eat and cool down from all the rock climbing we had done. Some of us even bought our break there. it with my friends. Poppy Burgess 8E
