while. We came home with unforgettable memories, a better understanding of German life and culture, and a sense of pride in having taken part in something truly special. If you ever get the chance to go — take it. You won’t regret it. The exchange wasn’t just about practising German or going on trips: it was a chance to meet new people, see what life is like in another country, and try things we wouldn’t normally get to do. We came back with a better sense of how things work in Germany and some great memories. If you ever get the chance to take part, I would definitely recommend it. Thank you to Frau Dorman, Frau Elwood and Herr Smith for organising the trip and looking after us all. Danke schön! Patrick Purdy 11V I thought the German Exchange was an excellent experience that allowed us to experience the culture in Germany, more so than on a trip to a major city with a focus on tourist activities. The German Exchange was truly a once in a lifetime experience which I would recommend to anyone. Charlie Hamill 11G

It was the perfect adrenaline-fueled finale to an amazing week in Germany.

Six months later, we had the chance to return the favour when our German exchange partners visited Belfast. We showed them around our school and city, with activities including the Ice Bowl, Belfast Activity Centre and a day in class at Grosvenor. They also explored the sights of Northern Ireland, from the grandeur of Stormont Buildings to the stunning Giant’s Causeway. This exchange wasn’t just about travel or language. It was about building friendships, gaining confidence, and stepping into someone else’s world for a little
