Junior A and Junior B

Year 8 members of the Tennis Club

The Junior B Team: Hannah Guthrie, Jessica Tang, Niamh Boreland, Liliana Collins, and Lexi Catherwood —played their final match against Wallace A. Although they were narrowly defeated in several close games, the team showed great spirit and improvement. With a bit more luck in next year’s draw, we are hopeful for even better results.

This year, Tennis Club took place on Mondays and saw a dedicated group of girls from Years 8 to 10 consistently attending and working hard to improve their skills. We entered two teams into the Junior Cup competition. The Junior B Team faced MCB A in their opening match at the Belfast Boat Club. Despite the 6-0 scoreline in favour of MCB, our girls showed great determination, with many games going to deuce and featuring some impressive rallies.

Year 9 members of the Tennis Club

Their second match was against a strong Rockport side. Once again, the girls gave it their all, but Rockport proved too strong, resulting in another 6-0 loss. Nevertheless, the team thoroughly enjoyed the experience—especially the post-match lunch invitation from their opponents, which was a lovely gesture of sportsmanship.
