I am delighted to report that the Boys Athletics program has enjoyed another hugely successful season, with medals being secured at all levels, and our highest levels of participation in after school practices. I will start by thanking my coaching team for the season. Karl Martin, one of our best athletes over the past two seasons, returned to Grosvenor in a coaching capacity and became a vital cog in our system. Karl specialises in coaching jumps; however, his overall knowledge of athletics, proper warmups, activations, and relays was put to the test and Karl became an invaluable member of the coaching team. His enthusiasm to help our pupils

produce their best on competition days, alongside his technical knowledge was outstanding throughout the season, and I know that every pupil who worked with him improved as an athlete. Mr Nelson again provided expertise in sprint training, alongside Mr Stevenson who brought a fresh approach to throws training, I have no doubt this led to our increased amount of medals secured in this area. One of our current pupils, Ben Sykes, took on a coaching capacity also, helping with the Junior 4 x 100m Relay team, ensuring they were able to repeat their success of the previous season and become Ulster Champions once again.
