the season. MCB made 120/7 off their 20 overs. In reply, a mixture of contributions from Adam Braithwaite (25), Sutikshan Sharma (15), Theo Dargan (15) and Harsh Tajane (13) placed Grosvenor in a positive position to chase down the substantial total. A hero emerged in the form of Alex Hamilton. With 23 runs needed from the 24 balls remaining, it looked like we would not make it. Alex Hamilton hit five boundaries to get us across the line with 12 balls to spare. Alex was mobbed by the whole team in celebration – it was a sign of the progress the team had made since the beginning of the year. We then played in what turned out to be our final game of the season in the semi-final of the cup competition away to Lurgan Junior High School. After a necessary stop at the Applegreen service station for confectionery, we made the 45 minute journey. It proved to be a step too far, as we were restricted to just 57 runs through some excellent spin bowling from the opposition. Despite pushing the opposition batters, Lurgan JHS won by 8 wickets off 14.2 overs. It was a thoroughly enjoyable year with a commitment and enthusiastic group of cricketers. We had a number of boys who performed consistently all the way through the year, showing their prowess and consistency. It was also pleasing to see a number of players develop and play a pivotal role in certain games throughout the season. I wish the boys all the best as they progress to Under 13 level next year. competitive fixtures, we played our first cup fixture against Killicomaine Junior High School. It proved to be a convincing win, with Grosvenor bowling out Killicomaine for just 50 runs. Ben Rickert was the star of the innings, with fantastic figures of 3-2-4-4. We chased the total down without losing any wickets, and Sutikshan Sharma scored 24 and Harsh Tajane scored 6 runs to lead the team to victory. Our next fixture was a challenging tie against Sullivan Upper School on a drizzly morning at Seapark. It was a very close affair, with Adam Braithwaite (24), Will Apsley (20) and Harsh Tajane (12) all adding runs to the total as we made 114/5 off 20 overs. Sullivan were pushed close with two wickets apiece being taken by Harsh Tajane and Evan McCloskey, but Sullivan managed to secure the win by making 116/6 off 18.4 overs. Our following game was at home to Bangor Grammar. An excellent performance from one Bangor Grammar batsman, in particular, gave them the advantage in the opening innings. Joseph Ford and Adam Braithwaite took two wickets apiece for Grosvenor. In reply, Grosvenor posted 103 off 18.4 overs. Theo Dargan (30) and Ben Rickert (16) showed good form in their batting despite the defeat. Our next round of the cup was away to Carrick Grammar. It proved to be a one-sided affair, as Carrick were bowled out for 58 runs, and 33* runs from Theo Dargan in reply helped to see Grosvenor to a seven-wicket victory. The next match was a proper fixture against Methody, who had beaten us in a ‘Pairs Cricket’ game at the start of the year. It proved to be most entertaining morning of
