An Outstanding First Year for Grosvenor’s Minor Netball Squad This year marked an exciting milestone for netball at Grosvenor, with over 30 girls taking part in after-school training. As their first year of competitive netball, the squad worked tirelessly to refine their fundamental
skills, showing remarkable improvement in a short space of time. The season kicked off in November at the Netball NI Round 1 Blitz, hosted by Belfast Royal Academy (BRA). Facing teams from BRA, Regent House, Sullivan Upper, and St Louise’s, the Grosvenor players showcased impressive flair, securing three wins and narrowly losing to the hosts. When the final results were tallied, Grosvenor emerged as Blitz champions — an incredible achievement in their debut competition. After Christmas, we had the privilege of welcoming Hoebridge School from Surrey, England. The visiting team demonstrated their polished style, reflecting their status as a netball-focused school. Despite a challenging match, the Grosvenor girls held their own, demonstrating resilience and determination, even though the final score ended 17-6 in Hoebridge’s favour. Having conquered Round 1 of the Blitz, Grosvenor entered a formidable group for Round 2, held at Our Lady’s & St Patrick’s College. Competing against some
