to extra-curricular sport in their first year at GGS. I wish them all the best as they move up to the U13 A and B squads in September and encourage them to continue working hard, supporting their teammates, and enjoying their hockey. A huge thank you to the coaching team: Mrs. Kirk, who supported Friday Games; Mrs. Rankin, who coached on Mondays; and Erin Tumilson, who did a brilliant
The A squad played Wellington College Belfast again, this time in an 11-a-side format, and won 1-0 thanks to a well-executed short corner finished by Abbie Lee. The season concluded with the A squad competing in the GGS Annual Tournament. The girls gave it their all, drawing 0-0 with both Belfast High and Bloomfield, and narrowly losing to Carrick Grammar. Unfortunately, they didn’t progress to the next stage, but their performance was commendable. This has been a fantastic season with a truly lovely group of girls. While this report doesn’t allow me to mention every player by name, each girl who attended training and represented the school contributed positively

Netball Summary Report This year saw a remarkable resurgence in netball at Grosvenor, with an impressive number of girls taking to the courts and competing in matches. It was fantastic to witness so many teams in action, and even more exciting to celebrate their successes. A Fantastic Year for Netball at Grosvenor
Looking ahead, it is vital that players continue their netball journey beyond school by joining local clubs to further develop their skills. A special mention goes to three Year 14 students, Emma Mackey, Zoe Steele and Jade Archer, who have shown unwavering commitment, representing Grosvenor every year since they joined the School. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff, and heartfelt thanks go to Mrs Logan (Senior Coach), Mrs Prior (Intermediate Coach), Ms Lunny (Junior Coach) and Mrs Hainsworth (Year 8 Coach) for their invaluable coaching and support. We also extend our appreciation to Erin Young, a former pupil and international netballer, for her role in preparing the Minor team for their NI Final, as well as to PE staff Mrs Murdock, Miss Thompson, and Mrs Hunter, who assisted and travelled with the teams for matches. Here’s to another exciting year of netball at Grosvenor! Mrs K Kirk
The standout moment of the season was the Minor Team’s incredible journey to the final of the NI Bowl Competition, where they faced Wallace High School. Meanwhile, the Intermediate Team came tantalizingly close to reaching the final in their age category, showcasing their skill and determination throughout the year. January brought a unique opportunity as we welcomed Hoe Bridge School from Surrey, England. Girls in Years 8 to 10 played against some highly skilled opponents, gaining valuable experience that set them up well for the season ahead. Grosvenor also had the privilege of hosting Round 1 of both the Junior and Intermediate Netball NI League Blitzes, as well as a Year 8 Blitz with local schools, giving younger pupils a taste of competitive play.
