Along with Ellie Keating and Ruby Royal as goalkeepers, this team showed real team spirit and determination to be their best each week which must be commended. The U14B Team The U14B team also enjoyed an excellent campaign, providing a platform for players to gain valuable experience and develop their confidence. Many of the B team players had started the season with limited competitive hockey experience, yet by the end of the year, they had evolved into a cohesive, hard-working team capable of playing lovely hockey. Their improvement was evident in every match, with strong passing combinations, good attacking play, and impressive defensive teamwork. The B team’s season highlights included several exciting draws and hard-earned wins that demonstrated their grit and never-give-up attitude. Miss Thompson noted that the progress made by this group was a credit to their enthusiasm and dedication in training each week. As the season draws to a close, the future looks bright for hockey at Grosvenor Grammar School. With such a strong group of talented and enthusiastic players, many will be aiming to push for places in the senior squads next year. The experiences gained this season from hard-fought wins to lessons learned in defeat have laid an excellent foundation for continued success. The 2024/25 season proved to be an exciting one for the Grosvenor Grammar School Under 14 A and B Hockey teams, as both squads showcased skill, determination, and an ever-growing passion for the sport. Coached by Miss Thompson, the teams trained diligently every Tuesday after school, and their hard work and commitment were reflected in their impressive performances throughout the season. From the very first training session in early September, enthusiasm was high. With around 30 girls involved each week, there was an atmosphere of support, teamwork, and enjoyment. Miss Thompson’s sessions were designed to build both individual skill and team cohesion, focusing on passing accuracy, tactical awareness, and confidence on the ball. The players responded brilliantly, showing remarkable progress as the term went on. Each Saturday morning, the U14s represented Grosvenor in a series of inter-school fixtures. These matches were a true highlight of the week, offering players the opportunity to put into practice the skills they had developed in training. Rain or shine, the teams turned up with commitment and positivity a testament to their passion for hockey and pride playing for Grosvenor Grammar School. The U14A Team The U14A season was marked by several good victories, including closely fought contests where resilience and teamwork shone through. From well executed goals throughout the season from Beth Cochrane, Casey Catherwood, Alex Robinson and Lucy Cunningham as forwards, the control shown in midfield from Niamh Boreland, Hannah Guthrie, Ellie Anderson, Lilly Collins and Libby Lasini and the ever calm presence of Kaja
