coach reminding them to talk to each other on and off the pitch, the girls became more fluid in their passing and defending during the season. A particular focus this season was our work on short corners. Due to the trial changes of positions, the girls all had the chance to practise these and now will be able to use that skill more effectively in the upcoming season. The teams over the season had mixed results but one particularly memorable result. On a cold Saturday morning in November, both teams played Lagan College away and we won both matches. A great result, in which both teams scored the most goals all season in a single match! The girls have been an absolute joy and a pleasure to work with this season. Whether it is an early start on a Saturday morning, or the weather is not the greatest, the girls have come to hockey fully committed to playing their best, being great ambassadors for GGS and to have fun enjoying a sport that they love playing. We all look forward to the 2025/26 session where we can further develop as a team, hone our skills, learn new tactics and enjoy the game of hockey. Mr J Moffett
The girls started back to hockey in late August with enthusiasm, determination and gusto as they started with training on a Friday afternoon and then their first match of the 2024/25 season. My thanks must go to Mrs Sneddon who would put the girls through their paces every Friday, honing their skills and developing the teams into the best that they could be. This was especially important as we had some fresh players join the two teams. Over the season, the girls developed new skills, grew in confidence and became a team that worked together on and off the pitch to represent Grosvenor Grammar School proudly. Teamwork makes the dream work! Both teams this year had players who were new; they quickly found their rhythm, playing like a team that had been together for years. With the addition of new players, it meant that some of the girls had the opportunity to play in different positions that they hadn’t played in before, and to their credit over the season, they all found what worked best for them and the team. Communication is key in any team’s success and the girls quickly realised the importance of this from the very first match to the last. With the captain, goalkeeper and
