The 2024–2025 season has been a truly memorable and positive journey for the 2XI Girls Hockey Team. With a newly assembled squad comprising a mix of players from Year 11 to Year 13, there was always going to be a period of adjustment. The team quickly gelled, demonstrating an impressive level of maturity, drive and commitment from the very first training session right through to the final whistle of the last fixture. One of the most encouraging aspects of the season has been the incredible dedication shown by every member of the team. Despite the varying levels of experience and age within the squad, the girls approached every training session with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Training sessions were consistently well attended, even on cold, dark afternoons or during particularly busy academic periods. The players showed a collective hunger to improve, always pushing themselves to

develop not just individually but also as a cohesive unit. Their eagerness to refine tactics, sharpen skills, and master new set plays reflected a level of commitment that speaks volumes about their character. One of the defining features of the season was the strong sense of camaraderie that developed among the players. Bonds were formed early, and it was clear that this was a group that truly enjoyed playing together. Whether it was encouraging each other during matches, supporting teammates through tough games, or simply sharing laughs in the changing room, the team spirit was infectious. The older girls offered guidance and encouragement to the younger players, while the younger members brought energy and fresh perspectives — creating a dynamic and supportive environment that benefited everyone.
